Career Planning Canvas

Andrew Hirst's Career Planning Canvas (first published as the Job Search Canvas, adapted from Osterwalder's Value Proposition Canvas). The square is the employer: its organisational goals, the workplace and the job specification. The circle is you: your employability components, your role skills and experiences, and your ambitions and purpose. Between them sits FIT: where what you offer meets what they need, and where it doesn't yet. Aim it at a role you want or might want; if you don't have one yet, use Sam Patel's target from the worked example, the graduate marketing assistant role at Northgate Foods (a fictional company), and label anything you add about it as an assumption. The grey prompts in each box show Sam's canvas: replace them with your own.
